He didn’t expect Shi Yuanbai to secretly check the super-topic so often. But honestly, his weibo handle was pretty easy to recognize, so it’s normal that he can be identified.
Of course, Wu Siyuan wasn’t going to persuade anyone else. But this splendid news? He would definitely it with his good buddies in the dorm so they could all celebrate together.
Just because Wu Siyuan stopped steering the discussion in the super-topic didn’t mean Chen Xuyou would stop. Plus, with the help of the other two roommates’ alts, Shi Yuanbai saw people still stubbornly spouting nonsense, and it left him deeply troubled.
On the other hand, Jiang Jingtong was delighted, occasionally showing him posts from the super-topic.
Thankfully, Gu Siyuan at least knew some limits and kept emphasizing on the super-topic to keep it within a small circle, stay rational, and try not to confuse Shi Yuanbai and the others.
But it didn’t help. The other fans in the super-topic were still going crazy.
Recently, Chen Xuyou’s family was invited to the birthday party of a relative who was a director. Chen Xuyao took the opportunity to bring his roommates along too. After all, these banquets were usually boring, so it better to hang out with friends and have some fun, especially since it was the weekend.
Wu Siyuan’s company wasn’t qualified to join such banquets yet. Even though it had made some progress recently, it hadn’t reached the point of having branches all over the country.
Still, knowing a director was a pretty good start.
Wu Siyuan recalled the plot line. One of the shou’s target was in the entertainment industry, a popular idol. His family was wealthy, and everything in his career had gone smoothly.
Wu Siyuan wondered whether this idol might show up at the birthday banquet.
"Shall I ask around for you?" Chen Xuyou quickly offered when he heard this thought.
They were all in the same boat now, working towards the same goal.
“Would it be too much trouble?” Wu Siyuan asked.
Chen Xuyao nonchalantly said, “My uncle would be happy to help!”
Then he called his director uncle to ask about the idol.
“Wen Yongliang? How did you know he’s coming too?” His uncle laughed heartily.
Wu Siyuan didn’t know what else Chen Xuyou said to his uncle afterward.
But Wen Yongliang wasn’t like Zhang Lianze and the others. He wasn’t someone who could be swayed easily.
Still, Chen Xuyou waved it off. “It’s fine, my uncle will help. You probably don’t know but my whole family pretty much hates Jiang Jingtong and his people. As soon as I mentioned our plan, my uncle said he’d assist.”
Hearing that, Wu Siyuan once again wondered whether the Chen Xuyao's family bore some deep-seated grudge against Jiang Jingtong.
But if that was the case, why could they still face each other so calmly? In business, whether gossip or insider info, there had never been any talk of conflicts between the Chen, Jiang and Shi family.
Wu Siyuan asked in a low voice, “Do you guys actually have some kind of blood feud?"
Chen Xuyou chuckled, “Not that extreme, but yeah, there is a grudge.”
Then Chen Xuyao revealed the story of his sister, who had now been sent abroad. She had once been involved with Jiang Jingtong and got dragged by Shi Yuanbai.
“That scumbag, he's clearly gay but he pretended to be straight to flirt with my sister.”
“You have no idea, my sister was obsessed with him like a lunatic.”
Jiang Jingtong never admitted their relationship, even mocking her for being a desperate stalker.
In the end, she kept getting framed. There was no proof that Shi Yuanbai was behind it, but for safety, the family had no choice but to send her abroad, away from the mess.
Shi Yuanbai was very cautious. Chen Xuyou always believed it was him, though no one else agreed. Even his family only half-believed it. But when it came to Jiang Jingtong, they were openly hostile.
Since Jiang Jingtong never acknowledged dating his sister, they couldn’t seek justice. Everyone just thought she was love-crazed. After all, young people breaking up wasn’t a big deal, so nobody took it seriously.
The Chen and Jiang families weren’t even in the same business sector, so usually their revenge was just petty back-and-forth.
But now, with Gu Siyuan offering Chen Xuyou a brand-new method of revenge, Chen Xuyou was very interested. Even the first step was exciting to him.
At the banquet, Wu Siyuan finally saw the idol Wen Yongliang.
Unlike the typical cute and youthful image of many idols, Wen Yongliang was the rugged, masculine type. In just two years since debut, he had already starred in two military-themed movies.
Although many media outlets labeled him as an idol, in Wu Siyuan’s view, he was actually a capable actor.
Before attending this banquet, he had studied Wen Yongliang’s profile and even watched his films. His acting was consistently excellent throughout. No wonder he was so popular.
Wu Siyuan didn’t know how Shi Yuanbai had met him, but in the original plot it was said that they had played together as kids.
Such a trivial memory had actually stuck with Wen Yongliang for so long. Even after knowing Shi Yuanbai was still infatuated with Jiang Jingtong, he remained steadfast in his love for Shi Yuanbai, devoted and unwavering.
Wu Siyuan felt a headache coming on. Could they successfully dissuade someone like him?
He stroked his chin, wondering when exactly did Wen Yongliang and Shi Yuanbai reconnect? Oh right, just before senior year started. So they already had contact.
Wen Yongliang had arrived early at the banquet. Recently, he had landed the lead role in Director Guan Yi’s upcoming film, so it was normal for him to come for Guan Yi’s birthday celebration.
Usually, Guan Yi didn’t invite industry people to his birthday, so it was unexpected that Wen Yongliang was here.
As soon as Wu Siyuan arrived, he realized his hopes were dashed. Besides Wen Yongliang and Guan Yi, the people present were just relatives and a few business partners unrelated to the entertainment circle.
Still, Chen Xuyou had his back. He made a point of introducing Wu Siyuan to Director Guan Yi.
“Siyuan’s family runs a chain of cinemas. If you want better box office resources, you can contact him.”
Wu Siyuan didn’t get nervous, and for Chen Xuyou’s sake, Guan Yi chatted with him for a bit.
Then Director Guan brought Wen Yongliang over. “Xiao Wen, there aren’t many young people here. It’s mostly old folks. Only these few are young. Why don't you chat with them? They're all students from A University."
Upon hearing about A University, Wen Yongliang’s eyes lit up. He knew one of them was Guan Yi’s nephew, but it seemed like he didn’t get along well with Shi Yuanbai and the others.
He looked at Gu Siyuan, who had just been chatting with Guan Yi. “Hello, I’m Wen Yongliang.”
After getting to know each other, Wen Yongliang casually mentioned Shi Yuanbai.
Wu Siyuan smiled. “Shi-shixiong? I know him. He just came to see me recently.”
“What? Isn’t he a senior student?” Wen Yongliang asked eagerly.
“Yeah,” Wu Siyuan replied. “He came because of the super-topic.”
“Super-topic?” Wen Yongliang was puzzled.
Then it was Chen Xuyou’s turn to put on a show.
The more Wen Yongliang listened, the more unbelievable and harder to accept it became.
“I’ve still got lots of photos I haven’t posted. But Shi-shixiong didn’t want people to know about him and Jiang-shixiong, so he told me not to share them.”
“What’s his relationship with Jiang Jingtong?” Wen Yongliang blurted out.
Wu Siyuan took out the pictures from the basketball game day and showed them to Wen Yongliang. “Although we think they are definitely a sweet couple, since Shi-shixiong won’t admit it, of course we can’t just say it. But Jiang-shixiong openly talks about their closeness.”
Wen Yongliang’s heart sank. He had once asked Shi Yuanbai about this, and Shi Yuanbai had told him that he was being coerced by Jiang Jingtong, who kept using family background to pressure him. He had nowhere to hide and no one to confide in. Shi Yuanbai had said he felt suffocated and wanted to escape the country.
Shi Yuanbai had even asked Wen Yongliang to help him leave Hua Country. Maybe if he was gone for a few years, Jiang Jingtong would lose interest.
But what Chen Xuyou and Wu Siyuan were saying was completely different.
The sweet smiles in the photos and the little things that happened at school were all different from what Shi Yuanbai had confided in him.
If anything, Jiang Jingtong looked like the one doing the chasing.1
The story Shi Yuanbai told him about Jiang Jingtong using his power and money to buy him off and look down on him simply didn’t exist.
In contrast, according to Gu Siyuan, Jiang Jingtong would agonize over what gifts to buy Shi Yuanbai in order to please him. Every time Shi Yuanbai liked something, the next second, Jiang Jingtong would deliver it.
Well, not instantly Wu Siyuan joked. “Now he doesn’t deliver in one second, he delivers in two minutes.”
What’s the difference!
Wen Yongliang looked devastated, like the sky was falling. Chen Xuyou stayed silent.
Seeing Wen Yongliang lost in thought, Wu Siyuan added, “Big Bro Wen, just open the Zombie super-topic, and you’ll see how sweet they are.”
With Wu Siyuan's additional words, the downpour in Wen Yongliang’s inner world turned into a full-blown thunderstorm.
He forced a smile and said, “I have something to attend to, so I’ll take my leave first.”
Wen Yongliang didn't see that as he turned around, Wu Siyuan and his roommates all raised two fingers together, forming a “Yay!”
Wu Siyuan sighed. “Shi Yuanbai’s harem doesn’t seem very strong?”
“That's normal,” Chen replied. “After all, true devotion is rare.”
Wu Siyuan’s plan was going perfectly. But on Shi Yuanbai’s side, things weren’t so good.
Shi Yuanbai tracked down that sophomore who always made excuses to get close to Jiang Jingtong, and had people beat him up.
Unexpectedly when Jiang Jingtong found out, he actually went to visit that student, spending all his free time with that bastard.
Shi Yuanbai asked him why, and Jiang Jingtong dared to say: “He got hurt because of me. That day, if I hadn’t told him to wait for me, this wouldn’t have happened.”
Shi Yuanbai was so furious he nearly coughed blood. For a moment he thought Jiang Jingtong had realized it was him who ordered the beating.
Watching that student take this opportunity to get closer to Jiang Jingtong, Shi Yuanbai suddenly felt a bit anxious.
Lately, it seemed like everyone around him was distancing themselves from him. What if Jiang Jingtong did the same? What would he do then?
